Pool for the People!
In 2018, the White Salmon community voted overwhelmingly in favor (60%) of forming the White Salmon Valley Pool Metropolitan Park District, whose sole focus is to construct, operate, and maintain a new swimming pool.
Using feedback gathered from our community during commissioned studies, public meetings, comments and surveys, the White Salmon Valley Pool Metro Park District has rallied around the following outdoor extended summer-season pool plan:
Phase 1 Construction Plan:
Multi-lane swimming pool for family swim, recreation swim, water safety education, exercise and more.
Check-in area + bath house/changing rooms
Future Phases:
Warm pool for teaching, therapy (and relaxation)
Splash pad/water play features/wading area
Community room/area for parties, events, meetings and pool related activities

Plan
Our White Salmon Valley Pool Metropolitan Park District has been active for since 2019, but in that time the Park District has been able to establish the new park district while making substantial progress toward creating a new pool facility.
The Park District board and their dedicated team of volunteers are focusing on facilitating the ultimate pool design and working on the development plan that will help us get the new pool built!
Build
We have negotiated a lease for a choice site with the White Salmon Valley School District and developed a solid schematic design that encompasses the years of public input, is respectful of the site & the needs of the community.
Swim
The pool opening date is dependent on funding for design & build. The target opening date will be publicized once the appropriate funding threshold has been reached.
